Sierra Del Sol overlooking the Rio Grand River and the Santa Elana Canyon

"Grumpy" Ed Hickenbottom sold and developed the more than 1000 acres known as Sierra Del Sol. He drilled for and provided water to the developement and sold the final acres in 2001 just before he passed away in January 2002. In 1983 Ed bought B.J.'s RV Park which has become a friendly community of both new and returning campers. His ashes are scattered at the site above where he found comfort in the spectacular view. A community of friends and aquaintences still think of him daily and will always miss "Grumpy."
